The annual New York City International Auto Show began in 1900 and was the first automotive exhibition in North America. The expo, held at the Javits Convention Center, features virtually every make and model of vehicle sold in the United States. There are more than 40 manufacturers with over 1,000 new cars and trucks on display, including Ferrari, Bentley, Maybach, Rolls Royce and Lotus. The event features some of the nation’s most unique classic and custom cars and provides sneak peeks of the latest models. This year, Volkswagen is making the Bulli available, a redesign of their classic 1960’s van.  The futuristic concept cars consistently draw visitors to the expo, this year the Cadillac Ciel, a long bodied convertible with suicide doors and the roofless Land Rover DC100 will be presented. Guided tours of the Auto Show are available, as are indoor rides in some of the vehicles. This year, the New York City Auto Show will run from April 6th to 15th. The Jacob Javits Convention Center is located at: 655 West 34th Street, Manhattan.
